Bön is the native pre-Buddhist religion of Tibet and recognized by His Holiness the Dalai Lama as one of the five spiritual traditions. The Bön trace their roots over 18,000 years originating in Central Asia and migrating to Tibet by way of ancient Zhangzhung. 43-Guidelines to Enlightenment For the first time in the western world, Latri Khenpo Nyima Dakpa Rinpoche will give the teaching 43-Guidelines to Enlightenment. Nyima Dakpa Rinpoche is a Bön Abbott and lineage holder of Lhatri Monastery in the Kham/Dege area of eastern Tibet. This teaching was composed by 21st H.H. sMenri Trizin Sherab Gongyal, throne holder of Gyalwa Nyammed pa founder and first Abbot of sMenri Monastery. The teaching will help us to deepen our understanding of essence inclusive of the essence of life, the truth of Karmic cause and result, the wisdom of love and compassion and the qualities of virtuous deeds. It will help us apply the teaching in action to overcome any critical situation in daily life, strengthen inner power, instead of ruining or wasting life. It also teaches us how important it is to ground spirituality within our life. The teaching includes the different levels, highest, medium and lowest level of capacity for understanding the essence of the teaching. Rinpoche will give us clear instruction on both the relative mind of Enlightenment (Kun zob Sem kyed) and the Absolute mind of Enlightenment (Don dam Sem kyed), including how to practice such enlightened mind, its course and condition. The teaching completes with how and when to apply gradual development of self realization, and ultimately achievement of Enlightenment to free all sentient beings from the misery of cyclic existence. |
